Headteacher's weekly update 29.11.2019

Dear Parents

Throughout this week in school we have certainly experienced the sense that we are approaching the Christmas season.  On Wednesday Class Three presented their assembly on the theme of Advent and the importance of preparation.  The children reminded us that while the next few weeks will be very busy, it is important for us all to take time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.  On Monday we will light the first candle on the advent wreath and will reflect on the scripture readings.

Today Class Five have enjoyed a creative day as they have taken part in the lantern workshop.   They will take home their lanterns ready for tomorrow night’s parade.  We are really looking forward to taking part in this community celebration.   We hope lots of our families will be there to soak up the festive atmosphere.  Please also support the school choir who will be performing at Castle Park.

You will have also received a list of dates for all the festivities leading up to our Christmas Break.  Throughout Advent we always try to think about the needs of others.  This year, as in previous years our CAFOD and Mini Vinnies will be organising fund raisers and visits to the local Frodsham residential home. We will also have another collection for the Frodsham foodbank. We will also be taking part in the Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day on 12th December.  A £1 donation can be made on parent pay. Please support us in trying to make a difference.

There is a family mass at St. Luke’s Church this weekend, we do hope you can attend especially as this will be the first week of Advent;  I am looking forward to seeing you there.  A letter has gone out to all year three parents today advising of a meeting for parents who wish their child to take part in this year’s sacramental programme.

Please also find a copy of our school holiday dates for the academic year 2020-21.

We hope you and your family enjoy the festivities this weekend.

Best wishes

Miss Murtagh
