Weekly Update-1 March 2019

It was good to see everyone return to school after the half term break, and for the first few days we were all able to enjoy the spring sunshine.  The first signs of spring  are beginning ot pop up around the school grounds.

This week your parents have had a chance to look at your work and to discuss the progress you are making in school. It is important that everyone continues to work hard to achieve the targets set.

On Friday we had a special visitor to our school; our local MP Mike Amesbury.  Thank you to Class 6 for demonstrating their debating skills.  They adopted a very similar style to that used in Parliament.  Mr Amesbury was very impressed with their ability to express their arguments clearly and effectively.

The School Council also had the opportunity to meet Mr Amesbury,  They had lots of interesting questions to ask.  They represent the ideas and interests of a group of people, just as Mr Amesbury represents his constituents.

On Friday after school the football team headed off to Kingsley CP and the school choir to St. Nicholas Catholic High's Music Festival.  Congratualions to the football team for coming away with a win.  It was a pleasure and a privilige to watch our school choir perform.   We were all inspired by such wonderful musical talent.

Happy St. David's Day everyone.

Best wishes

Miss Murtagh
