Reception Class - January 2020

Class: Reception Year: 2019 - 2020

What a busy first week the children in Reception have had! On Tuesday, the children came back to find a small present waiting for them. They all used their senses to guess what they thought was inside the beautifully wrapped present before George opened it to find a shiny, red bus. Afterwards, the children shared their experiences of going on buses and made their own maps of their bus journey’s. Then, disaster struck on Tuesday when the children couldn’t find the bus. It had vanished! Luckily, the children were able to solve the clues, using great teamwork, to find out that it was… Mrs Williams! The children have also enjoyed creating their own village for ‘The Naughty Bus’. They worked extremely hard to cut out and stick the road, draw the village and create some model vehicles. It has been a delight to watch them play so creatively with it. This topic is all focused around our key English text ‘The Naughty Bus’.

In Maths, the children have been learning all about addition, in P.E. Miss Corbett was very impressed with the great throwing and catching skills she saw and outside lots of obstacle courses have been made.

An amazing week of learning, well done Reception!
